My review on this dim sum place might have different from others. I did not manage to dine in it because I reached quite late, around 9:45pm and they were about to closed. I then checked with the boss there, isn't I see online and all other reviews that you actually open till 11pm. He said that is the old time, they changed the operating hours quite some time due to the street itself is quite dark and there were some cases happened nearby so they decided to close early.

In the end, I packed away my dim sum dinner.(or supper?). They did not have much left so we just got whatever they had since we were here and would like to try out. Taste might be vary if you dine in. What we see on below costed me almost RM50.

My brother & my SIL's comment: The dim sum cannot make it!!

My sister's comment: Ok lor!!

My Mum's comment: Not a fan of the dim sum but still ok.

My turn now. All the fried stuff that we had, I feel cannot make it may be because it is cold. The steam char siew bun - with a unique herbal taste(not sure if really herbal, but we all tasted that), is quite good for me. The siew mai tasted average. Prawn dumpling I did not have it.

Do drop by early if you want to try out their dim sum in hot!!

Si Chuan Duo Hua

My birthday celebration at this dim sum place. I had their dinner buffet before and always have the impression that the food is good but expensive.  There are 2 for 2 promotion for Singtel & UOB customer on Nostalgic Dim Sum Buffet. The price is as below:-

• SGD28++ per person (Monday to Thurday)
• SGD32++ per person (Friday to Sunday, eve of and on Public Holidays)

Dim sum overall quite good and for the price we paid. We almost tried every items on the menu.

Yam Paste Bun with Salted Egg Yolk and Char Siew bun - I personally like the char siew bun more. Tasted really nice. The yam one was a bit disappointed.

Pork Belly with Taro and Mushroom 那些年烧腩卷 - I had 2 of this, so that means I love it!!

Fresh Mango with Pomelo Cream (杨枝甘露) and  Homemade Beancurd with Wolfberry - the only 2 desserts we tried as we did not have much spaces. Both also good.

Hakka Dumpling with Turnip (茶果) - my friends like it but I dun like the filling

Jin Xuan Hong Kong锦选香港特极点心

I tried this dim sum restaurant at Kuchai Lama branch and did not have a very good experience, reason being the stuff served cold. I only like the dim sum served hot. We arrived around 10am and you can see the crowd, it was not very long queue, so we got the seat quite fast although it was outside. Overall, my experience here was much better than the one I had at Kuchai Lama.

We just happened to sit in front of this huge menu. So it was pretty easy for us to choose from the menu. It seems the dim sum price basically has 4 types Medium中点(RM4+), Large大点(RM4.5+), Special特点(RM5+) and Super超点(RM12+)。

201 Fried Glutinous Rice(RM4.5+) - I love this although it is glutinous rice but it is not the sticky version. 210 Fried Prawn Beancurd Roll(RM5+) - a bit oily but still taste good and crispy. 

205 Fish Paste Eggplant(RM4.5+) - a type of yong taofu, tasted quite good with the sauce

Golden Bun(RM4+) - the custard was flowing which is the style I like. The version here is nice.

Steamed Beancurd(RM4.5+) - this taste average. Siew Mai(RM4.5+) tasted quite good. Fried Carrot Cake tasted average.

Finally is our most expensive selection, the super dim sum - Salted Shirmp Scallops(RM12+), I like it personally but the skin a bit too hard. This is a fried dim sum which I did not see at other dim sum place.

On the way to UK, we indirectly will pass by Ayer Hitam town. I tried to find something interesting food online and found this cafe. It is selling bao (steam bun) and dim sum. The signature and famous stuff is the big bao. This cafe is non halal as they used pork.

It was only after the next day I knew that cafe was featured on variety show or newspaper before. We got the big bao(with pork), char siew bao and some dim sum to share.

Overall, I felt everything here also taste average. So I will not travel again just for the bao itself. I personally feel for the big bao, I prefer the JB Handmade Bao that is selling in Singapore. The cafe has its own crowd as we reached around 3pm plus and cafe still very full. I saw a lot of people took away too. If you passed by Ayer Hitam, you may drop by this kopitiam.

Wen Dao Shi

My friend was so surprised when I told her that I never try this dim sum place and she said I should try out. I got her advice for the crab porridge and king pork dumplings.  On their menu they have normal pork dumplings and king pork dumplings. She said ordered the one with king, definitely taste better than normal one.

The fried char siew bao looked interesting so we ordered one, it came with 4 pieces but it is really a small bun. I also order yam dim sum and vegetarian roll but both taste not really good. Lastly I added chicken feet as we saw almost everyone were getting it. Great that we did that, it is so far the best I tried in Singapore as of today.

Price will be slightly more expensive but no service charge. You should come for the dim sum if you have craving on it.
