We were here to celebrate a friend's birthday. She wanted to have spicy food and I was thinking what to have near our place. I found this while I was goggling for the choice. The restaurant offers set menu for BBQ option and the side dish of all sorts of unlimited kimchi you can see below is included in your order. However, you won't be able to have much as they are all quite salty if you have too much, so don't waste the food by getting a lot.

Our BBQ set dinner for 2 comes with a bean soup(tasted good) and topokki which originally we felt not enough for 4 of us, so we added Samgetang Ginseng Chicken($18++). The amount of food was actually more than enough for us as it comes with rice and it is quite filling. The ginseng chicken was nice tough so was a good try for us.

Hanwoori Korean Restaurant

Met a friend at Serangoon Garden for dinner. Both of us had no idea on what to eat so we walked around and found this korea Korean restaurant.  The menu looks interesting especially my friend found some steamboat like cuisine. We ordered a mini steamboat and chives pancake. The food generally quite good  based on what we choose and we were really full after the meal.

There were total of 10 side dishes served. Not all were great but averagely still ok. Kimchi generally quite good. I dun like the carrot one as I feel too salty for me.

Pelicana Chicken

Me and my sister sometime have the craving on fried chicken. On our way back home, we suddenly think of this newly opened chicken place from Korean(I guess we also saw the banner that was hanged along the road, so it gave us the idea where to go).

It is newly opened in Sibu and it was the 1st Pelicana Chicken outlet in Malaysia. If you look at their picture on their facebook and the banner, it looks so delicious(of course, aren't you know that is for Illusion only?) but see what I got below. The fried chicken like so small and probably the chicken is not helathy enough. I wasn't sure is it not many people on the day, the chicken tasted to me like fried for many times. The taste is alright but I hope they can improve the quality at least 90% closer to the one in the picture will do.

Auntie Kim's Korean Restaurant

I had been to this korean restaurant once with my sister but I guess I forget to blog this. I cannot remember what I had. The only memory is the ginseng chicken soup.  Most of the time I will order that as it is light and great in taste.  The ginseng chicken soup here tasted quite good too.

This time round I came with 2 friends and as usual we ordered ala-carte and shared. We had kimchi soup, the seafood pancake and BBQ pork. We were lucky we were there at 6pm and no need queue, when it reached 6:30pm, we started to see the crowd. The food here consider quite expensive but still attracted so many people, so it should have something really good. oh ya..they served free tea. :)

Kimchi Chigea($14.50++) - Kimchi stew with taofu in clay. The portion is very small, it has to go with rice as it is quite salty. Tasted good but a bit too strong for me, hence I feel salty even I eat with rice.

The side dishes and you are only allow to refill for 3 times(We actually thought that) but when we wanna refill, we were told, is only refill for 3 items.

Doi Ji Mok-Sal($22++) - Pork shoulder meat marinated with special sauce. This is really good especially eat with the fresh vegetables. I always love this.

Hae Mool Jeon($16++) - Korean pancake with mixed vegetables and seafood. I dun really found the seafood inside, but notheless, it tasted good.

Seoul Yummy

Met a friend on a Friday night and because of work, I met her only 9pm and every time I met her, we seems having Japanese food. So she was saying. .lets have something different this time.  Walked to Bugis+ thinking to find either Korean or Chinese food. We then saw this korean restaurant.  It was already 9 plus at night and surprisingly there was queue, not long..3 tables waited.

We saw the amazing big army stew with noodles and it looks quite nice but we had only 2 people, so decided not to go for that as it was quite late already. We got ourselves the kimchi soup,  since we were at Korean place, this is a must ordered stuff. Then we added spicy pork bibimbap.  The food generally quite nice but we are too full to try out the side dishes.  We just tasted some and I dun feel anything impressive. The main courses are consider good for the 2 options that we got.

I did notice about the special lock at the restaurant but we are too tired to check that out. After when I did a search, it is a wish lock for $5, the purchase will be donated to Make-A-Wish charity.

Bibigo (Raffles City)

Bibigo is not only a korean restaurant but it also have it own product. If you go to NTUC, you can find a small session of the products. It is listed as Korean Healthy Fresh Kitchen. I had been to this restaurant twice, price slightly more expensive than some korean restaurant, certain dishes are quite good.

Fried Korean Gyoza - Tasted quite good

It has its own plate, quite nice

Ginseng chicken soup - I normally will try this dishes whenever I go to korean restaurant. The version here is good, traditional Korean soup made of a whole chicken stuffed with glutinous rice and Korean ginseng

Pajeon; Seafood Pancake - Not the best that I had. Taste good but a bit oily when you see the pan.

Chicken Kimchi Fried Rice - Kimchi fried rice with chicken in a sizzling hotstone bowl

Japchae; Silver Noodle - This suppose to be appertiser but my friend treat as main dish. Taste nice with sesame oil. The portion is good to go as main dish.

Sarang Korean Restaurant

I seldom have Korean food but instead it is a healthy choice. I had tried once before and I feel they have good standard Korean cuisines. When I saw big deal had the promotion of 50% of the voucher, I bought it. They located quite centrally at Orchard, so easy to access.

Drunken Pork - This is nice although I dun taste any alcohol, as the name is drunken pork, so I assume they used some alcoholic items to marinate it.

Toboki - Korean traditional dish, with rice cake, boiled egg and fish cake with the special sweet chilli sauce. Sarang's toboki have the Korea standard.

Ginseng Chicken Soup - My favourite Korean dish and super good. The soup cooked well and when you smell it, you will feel tempted to eat it. The whole chicken stuffed with some glutinous rice is the best from the restaurant. Chicken is tender and tasted fantastic with the soup.

Kimchi Pancake & Squid Pancake - This is great too, so far one of the best Korean pancake I had eaten. I personally prefer kimchi more.

Togi Korean Restaurant

My friend recommended this Korean Restaurant to me. We were served 6 different side dishes and they allow unlimited refill. The services are quite good. When the staff found we are done with any of the side dishes, they will automatically refill for us.

The food here overall are good, but I think the black noodles not suite me. It tasted a bit sweet, not my type.

The kimchi pancake is thin version and I like it. The Duk Bok Gi contains rice cake, fish cakes, eggs, gyoza, onions, carrots in a spicy Korean sauce. It is much spicier than we expected.

 (From Top to Bottom, Left to Right) Potatoes Salad, beancurd skin(taste like fish cake), seasoned vegetables, kimchi, anchovies, pickled cucumbers.

Chang Korean Charcoal BBQ Restaurant

I had the BBQ buffet on promotion, each $14.90. Went there on Saturday Lunch, limited side dishes, Kimchi, Macaroni Salad, Kimchi Fried Rice & Rice cake. They served mostly pork, 1-2 types of different marinated beef, chicken & lamb, there are some seafood. No drink is served, you have to purchase separately. However, there are fruit & 2 type of ice-cream flavour. Overall, this is just average compare to others but with the amount of money I pay, I think it is still worth to try out. Oh ya..I like their kimchi and the marinated beef with bone.
