Airport Kopitiam

I was hungry when I was at the boarding area. I walked around but nothing seems interesting.  I felt sleepy so I wanted to have coffee hence I went to Airport Kopitiam and took Set D (RM10) includes mee siam and choice of coffee or tea. The coffee was too sweet but mee siam tasted not bad. I requested for more sambal and that perfectly served with mee siam and fried egg.

Restaurant Todak

I always heard that seafood in JB is cheap and good(dun know where I got such information but definitely saw it somewhere). I did checked with friends and she said this restaurant part of the famous one that people usually will dine in. She seldom come here because this is not near the place she stays. We were here for lunch because she think may be we should try the crabs. However, we were not lucky enough, all crabs were sold out the night before and it will only replenish at night.

There is pretty sea view(ignore the big ships around the right side of the restaurant) and you eat what you catch or if you dun know how to choose, let the staff choose for you. There are all sort of live seafood. They always served you with nuts(RM2+), if you don't want it, you can let them know.

All live seafood that is waiting to end their life. One of my friend said she was pity with the species there, they dun know they are going to die any-time and become a dish on the table. She felt so bad to eat them. I asked if she has the feeling if eating at other restaurant, apparently if she din see, she is fine.

I had the coconut drink(RM5+) on the hot day. I was not that lucky as the coconut meat was so hard, luckily the juice still quite nice.

Fried Squid with Salt and Pepper(RM26+) - tasted average, it was not crispy enough.

Steamed Snapper Fish in Teochew Style(RM39+) -we all agreed that we can steam better than this. I saw most table was having fried fish instead of steam, make us regret to go healthy..lol

Stir Fried Vegetables(RM14+) - one of my friend said this is the best among all the dishes. I felt slighly salty for me but overall tasted good.

Indonesian Prawn(RM30+) - the prawn was cooked in the curry and served with the deep fried bun(RM1+ each). I personally quite like this curry compare with other seafood dishes.

g Cafe

Friends introduced this cafe to us and what made me here was, they told me this is a bear theme cafe, you will see a lot of bear iconic stuff, so I was here. I like the decoration of the cafe - luxury and grand at 2nd floor. The cafe have 2 storey and 2nd storey's decoration is more elegant with the luxury arm chairs.

The glasses are cute and special, it slants one side. We were playing quite happily with it but of course we cannot put down the glass rudely as it will sure spill out.

Grilled Salmon(RM20++) - salmon grilled with lemon spice and served with aglio olio spaghetti and very minimal green. Tasted average, no wow factor. The portion slightly little, for lady just nice but guess guy might need additional order.

gBrunch(RM18++) - choice of 2 eggs, ham and sausage, hash brown, baked bean, avocado, sauteed mushroom, cherry tomatoes and toast. From the menu, I feel it looks interesting but the dish served as below is not the same as what I Imagined. My friend got this and I tried only the scrambled egg, an ordinary breakfast set but it is filling.

Nasi Lemak(RM12++) - Fried spice chicken thigh, traditional sambal and fried egg. You can added chili squid(sambal sotong) for RM4++. Malaysia style nasi lemak in luxury cafe, taste of sambal not bad but I feel the sotong is not very fresh or it might be overcook.

Cappuccino(RM8++) - nice coffee. I had requested the master to have different latte arts for all of our coffees. The bear is a bit disappointing but it was still cute as I think they used the mould. I prefer actual bear the latter art.

Carbonara Ham & Mushroom Penne(RM15++) - penne with parmesan, turkey ham in creamy sauce. The sauce tasted quite good.

There is quite a lot of cake selections. All looks quite tempting but we had limited space so we only choose 2 of them. The cake range from RM9.90++ to RM13.90++(not including the dessert on the menu)

gCheesy Heaven(RM9.9++) - I like this, probably because I like cheese. I felt it is cheesy enough for me. Strawberry Addition(RM9.9++) - strawberry mousse with layered of cake, tasted not bad. Overall, I prefer gCheesy. It was my friend birthday and the cafe kindly sponsored the candle for us. The birthday boy even take away a selection of cake from shelf complimentary on the courtesy of the cafe.

华仔三合一年糕Hua Zai 3 in 1 Chinese Cake

This is the famous fried nian gao(年糕New Year cake - made of glutinous rice flour) which has branches in Singapore. I don't know where it branch is but my friend said at Jurong East interchange there is one.

Obviously from the title, it should be famous with the fried nian gao.  There are 2 types, one is the pure nian gao and another one is the 3 in 1, which is the nian gao is in between yam and sweet potatoes. This is quite a common street food in Malaysia. Hua Zai stall has more option and we are all interested with the fried durian. We got a few types for sharing Fried Banana(RM1.20), Fried Durian(RM3) and Fried Cempedak(RM3). We did not eat them instantly as we were need to go to do some shopping on the knitting items so we actually ate it after 30-45minutes. To our surprise, the fried items still remain its crispiness after so long. Usually it will become soggy after a while. We all love fried durian the most. I love banana too so I feel their fried banana is really good compare with most of the stall.
