Greenzilla

We were catching the bus to KL at Star Vista at 6:45pm, that is very early and we did not have time for our lunch, So I was thinking to have a quick dinner take away. There are many fast food option in Star Vista and I noticed this interesting vegetarian burger. I did not got it myself but I bought one for my friend, got tasted her burger. My friend got the Tofu Fusion with Charcoal Bun($5.9) served with mini coleslaw. It is quite fresh and taste fine for me. Good news for vegetarian(even non-vegetarian), other than vegan burg, you have additional choice.

Loving Hut

I was looking on some vegetarian food online and happen to come across this international vegan restaurant chain. They have one branch at Suntec City, the one at Geylang area just open for few months when I visited(Feb 2014).

I checked out the reviews and most are positive. My lunchmate is vegetarian so that is ideal for us. I got myself Vegan Lasagne ($13.90+) and my friend had Vegetarian Pho ($9.90+). For drink, I had Cappuccino($5.9+) and she has rose drink. I understand from the staff that the coffee bean and soy milk that they use are organic. I did heard a friend commented that organic coffee is totally bad but I feel my cappuccino is fine.

My lasagne, the portion is alright for me but I feel for slightly big eater, this seems too little. My friend's pho looked like Chinese Yong Taofu but she said the taste is alright.  They have quite a lot of selections on the menu. This is not the best vegan restaurant buy worth to try out.

Graces Court Cuisine

My friend found this restaurant,  a vegetarian restaurant located at level 2 in Hotel Royal. It offers buffet lunch but we chose to go for ala-carte. We ordered one vegetarian chicken dish and brinjal. Both tasted not bad especially the vegetarian chicken. It smelled good but both dishes tasted a bit salty. The price is reasonable, worth to try out. I went on a Saturday lunch and not much crowd so that helped us to save our time from waiting.

Greenland Vegetarian Restaurant

Being quite sometime since my last visit to the vegetarian restaurant.  My friend found this place and asked if I mind to go for vegetarian food. I eat everything basically that can be eaten, I told her.

This restaurant is quite near to Seranggon MRT, just 10 mins walk. It wasn't many people when we were there for dinner. We have 5 of us and we ordered 5 dishes with 1 medium and the rest small.  Total damage was around $90. It is kind of the typically restaurant price. So if you feel having vegetarian is way cheaper, I think you are wrong.

You may found that the dishes name doesn't looks like vegetarian but no worry, there are 100% vegetarian, no meat in all the dishes we ordered. It used mock meat.

Bodhi Lamb Curry($15++) - This tasted really very nice, I would recommend you get this if you are here. The curry is thick enough and the flavour is so good.

Roasted Square($20++) - The vegetarian version of roasted pork. It is famous in the restaurant but I feel not much flavour for me and tasted quite normal. I will skip this if I visit again. It is like how you eat the korean BBQ pork, wrap your "meat" with the raw vegetables and eat it while fresh.

Bodhi Beancurd($10++) - The taofu is ok, and it is quite normal. Not much suprise for this.

Creamy Flavour($10++) - Just like the outside cereal chicken, it tasted almost the same, I am wondering if they use mock meat or mushrooms for this. I forgot to check with them. Nice!

Salty Crumbs($10++) - vegetarian version of the Salted Fish with Pork Belly Stew. I love this a lot and it is very good to go with the rice. Favourable and tasted really good.

Our total damage..

Naive[Closed]

This is so far the best Chinese style vegetarian I had, but I had minimal tried with all vegetarian food so I guess there are better elsewhere. The restaurant was closed down after 4 years operation and again, I suddenly found that I did not blog this wonderful restaurant, and feel like should it. The food here was really yummy and the price also quite "good".

A lot of dishes they used monkey head mushroom(猴头菇) and it is very good, especially the one fried with cereal. It taste exactly like cereal chicken, one of my colleague who is vegetarian did not have it at all because he feel it tasted like real meat.

While searching for this, I found that it has a sister restaurant called "Whole Earth" and the chefs/service staff for Naive are now relocated there. I haven tried Whole Earth but I looks through the menu, I can see similarity in the dishes. Hope the standard is still there when I visit it sometime in the future.

Po Lin Monastery’s Vegetarian

Before I came here, I already heard my friends said you should try the vegetarian if you go Po Lin Monastery. The vegetarian is really good. We reached here almost noon time, so decided to have lunch first before climbing up to the big buddha.

They actually have the other set menu package but we feel too much for us so we went to this snack corner and the food looked attractive. So we ordered some to share.

The beebun and the vegetarian meat tasted ok, I like the curry one more. I love the bean curd especially for the dessert. The sago looked creme brulee not as good as I thought of but still not too bad. The steam kuih seems like is the traditional dessert that Hong Kong used to have as I saw a lot in Hng Kong drama, however, we did not like it much.

Zen Japanese Vegetarian Restaurant[CLOSED]

I like Japanese food and found it is interesting that there is this Japanese Vegetarian, so decided to give it a try. It was crowded and we had to make reservation. It could be this is a good choice for vegetarian. I will never find this place if I din happen saw it while googling.

The food generally tasted average and of course you cannot compare with the real Japanese non-vegetarian version They used mushrooms and beancurd to make the fake meat which was healthy instead of flour.

I ordered the set with some pork chop. This tasted good, not really like vegetarian and was filling. The size dish is good too.

This is vegetarian sashimi and be frank, it tasted really not good. I dun know what I was eating..hmm..like a sponge soak with water and the taste a bit strange and I dun like it. I search online and I think it is made of gelatin.

The stir fried vegetables is nice although I think the zhi char version is better but this is much better than the sashimi.
