Kingwood Hotel Restaurant

This is the wedding dinner that I attended quite some time back and I still manage to find out the pictures. In overall, the food was luxury and tasted quite nice for most of the items, the only thing was the wedding dinner too huge and grand, the restaurant do not have enough staff hence, the waiting interval time for each dishes took really long. By the time we finished, it is almost 11pm. That could be the longest wedding I had been to. I personally like the fish and the scallop dishes, very yummy.

Hao Ke Lai Cafe 豪客来咖啡餐食

This is the kopitiam nearest to Rejang Medical Center.  Lot of people come here for lunch, there is quite a lot of choices for mixed vegetables and rice. I had my favourite Fried Noodles Soup炒煮面(RM3.5). The version here quite generous on the meat compare with other. The soup is slightly sticky but still taste not bad. I like it.

Typically all the kopitiam in Sibu, sure have one Kampua stall. Noal;s Noodles is the one. The menu is slightly different from the normal one, it has more items. My brother tried the kampua and wanton and he said that is not really good. My sister had the Spicy Noodles(RM4.5), the taste not too bad but we did not like the fried meat topping. I had Mixed Soup(RM5) - there is fish ball, vegetables and pork intensity. The soup doesn't reach my expectation.

Steam Seafood Dumpling(RM4.5) - tasted not bad, is better than their traditional dumpling.

Next, I had the Kompia (RM4.5 for a set of 5). Sibu's traditional pastry, they fried it and stuffed with minced meat. It always depends on how sauce is like, Noal's version is quite good, one of the best I had in Sibu, slighly salty and oily. However, I will still come back here if I have craving on that.

Ah Ngieng Cafe

The cafe famous for its claypot fish and my mum brought me here for dinner. It was crowded and depends on the crowd,  you might need to wait longer for the food.  We waited almost 30mins for our food, waiting time was bad especially you smelled the food from other tables. So if you are hungry, please don't come here, you will be even more hungry.

Fried Pork Belly - another famous item but I feel it was a bit too dry. This is the must order no 2 for this tze char.

The signature Claypot Fish comes with lot of gravy, in fact it was type of soup. The ingredients included fried fish, yam and assorted vegetables. Tasted good for me, the soup was great, not too salty even without rice to go along. I like it! Almost all tables I saw had this on their tables.

Stir Fried Vegetable - this vegetable normally is green colour more,  I wasn't sure how come this batch is more towards white. Nevertheless,  it tasted average. Stir Fried Millian - taste nice but slightly salty for me.

New Sungei Merah Bread House 新珠安面包西果屋

One of my favourite bakery shop because of its snail coconut bread.  That is still the best that I had in Sibu among most of the bakery I tried. It is so good that whenever I back home,  I will try to get it. This time I tried the butter and red bean bread too. I like the butter bread,  tasted quite special. Red bean tasted like usual. My 1st choice here always the coconut bread, only if this is not available I will go for other.

There are 2 types of coconut bread, one is the long shape which is packed as 10 long stick for RM3, another is the snail shape which is packed as 6 for RM6. I understand from the old aunty (think she is the owner) that the 2 different coconut breads use slightly different ingredients. However, I cannot taste much difference.

Sing Ming Kee Cafe

I was here because of its fried kompia with meat. I saw online and it seems ao tempting. There are 2 stalls in this cafe, did not notice if there is zhi char stall. 1st stall is selling kompia and laksa while 2nd stall is selling kampua. The fried kompia with meat tasted quite good, will be better if has more fillings. The kampua is also known as minister kampua. Reason being there is one minister will pass by have kampua whenever he went to the airport. The cafe located on the way. The kampua noodles the owner made it themselves. Tasted average for me.

Tiong Hua Road Kompia

There is no name for this cafe, all I know it is known as Tiong Hua Road Kompia. It is located inside a housing area. They still served the traditional way of kompia. The kompia is soaked in the gravy of 5 spices and soy sauce. I personally don't like this way of serving, it is too soft and wet, tasted a bit disgusting for me. I did know that there are a lot of people like it and rated this is the best kompia in town. They served also some drinks and one of the popular one is the plum drink. Tasted average to me as well.

New Capitol Restaurant

I know this restaurant since young, one of the oldest restaurant in Sibu. I had been here several time but can't really remember the taste. It should be nice else it won't survive for so long. I had lunch there lately because of its famous kampua. Kampua although is very common food that usually not serve in restaurant but some restaurants do have it on menu.

Stir Fried Kampua - the kampua is fried and topped with gravy. Tasted like yee mee I had in KL. Tasted ok but too salty.

Famous Kampua - tasted good but I feel some other place may have the same standard.

Fried Pak Kut -  a type of local vegetables which I like it too, same family with milliam but softer and not crunchy.  Tasted nice but too salty.

Fried Tofu Salad - tasted nice, they use Japanese sesame sauce and that added a lot of flavour. The fried tofu itself average.

Steam dumplings (RM1.5+ each) - tasted average.

Red Carrot Cafe

I seems always met friends here for tea time so I never tried the food here. My only memory is the drink. I had hot chocolate (RM5+) and my friend had pineapple juice. We got some wedges with cheese sauce (additional RM1.5 for this). This is a good place to hang around as it is quiet during tea time even on a Sunday.  Drink tasted quite standard, no complaint on that. My sister said the yogurt ice cream here is nice. However it was not available on the day I visited.

Chung's Bakery

I like the sibu way of coconut bun. My mum told me this bakery's coconut bun tasted quite good also if I can't get the usual I have. There are 2 types of coconut bun; With Kaya Filling (RM1.3 per piece) and without filling(RM2.3 for 3 in a pack). I personally prefer the one with filling as the bread was softer but this version quite sweet. The one without filling tasted not bad tol but the bread kind of not soft enough.

Tom's Too

The cafe is locates inside Delta Mall, the menu is not cheap if I browse through.  I wanted to have some desserts very much so I drove here purposely for that.  I got Red Velvet Cake, the cake is too dry for me. Both me and my sister feel that it tasted not nice. We had cappuccino (RM7.9+), coffee tasted average. Total bill damage include service charge is RM19.8.
