Be frank, I was quite disappointed with my visit here. Not to the coffee but for the food that they offering.  They have very limited choice but that shouldn't be a problem.

The cafe's kitchen is small and it doesn't have much space. Not much fancy design but still nice place to have a meetup with a group of people, not too big. There is a long high table and chairs which we felt the high is not right. Either the table to low or the chair too high, not very comfortable sitting there. So we changed our seat.

We ordered something from the menu and got a cake on the shelves. The pastries did not looks good to me as some of the items seemed to us like it had been displayed for long. You can see that from the cake easily. We chose the one that looked fresh. However,  first bite we were disappointed. We felt these pastries somehow should be coming from some commercial suppliers. We got it right.  Everything displayed on the shelves are not made in house. We are not sure whether all from the same place but both that we tried are not really good.

Cortado($4) - ratio of milk and coffee is 1:1. I made the right choice, this is what I like. So no complain with coffee.

Earl Grey Caramel Waffles($11.5) - rated one of the best 5 waffles in Singapore in Year 2013. I guess everyone has its own preference. May be the day I went the waffles did not present well. It tasted average and totally no earl grey smell at all.

Banana Muffin($6.5) - Only top layer is nice, not much banana smell and the muffin actually bad according to my friend. She said I made better than this. Thanks for her compliment. I definitely had a better banana muffin at other cafe.

Quiche of the Day($9) - it is an ham and spinach quiche. For its price, I feel the quiche is too mini. Taste average.

Cappuccino($4.5) - my friends said it is good for them

Mr Prata

2nd round of my breakfast as it seemed a lot of people eating there. The teh tarik consider good but somehow I feel.not hot enough.  Plain prata is not the texture I like but my friend sais not bad. Roti Tissue is not crispy enough. I had one in KL which the whole roti is crispy. The version here only crispy at the top.

This place is not very accessible but thanks to the Free Shuttle Bus Service from Grandstand,  we were able to travel to the place easily. Sorry for the poor photo quality.

I bought the voucher online to try out this gelato place. All the desserts below cost me $9.50(Original $20.10 without voucher) The price is slightly cheaper if compare to some ice cream shop. The gelato ice creams are quite nice, waffle and brownie is average. They have some special flavour like lavendar and sakura which we don't really like it, taste new but feeling won't want to have more. Coffee consider average too. I was having the Combo 1($9.80) which include a waffle with Gelato and a hot beverage(only applicable to $4 and below).

Brownie($5.30) is best to go with the ice-cream. Then why I don't have ice-cream but my waffle was full of it? This is because of the price difference, a scoop top up on waffles only cost me $2.5 but if I choose to have Brownie with Gelato($9), I will need to top up $3.7. My friend remind me that and we decided to use the best money to enjoy our desserts.

PasarBella - A Farmers' Market

I knew about this farmers market, PasarBella from the net friend. PasarBella had its preview on 4-5 May 2013 and I went on 5th May(Sunday) which I expected there will be crowded. 

I went to the farmer's market in New Zealand so I expected it might have the same concept. However, it is different from what I thought of. 1st, it is indoor with aircorn. 2nd, the the food sale here are not really cheap, it is like high end market. 

PasarBella provide a one-stop food and lifestyle experience under one roof.  The founder sought to offer similar concept of other global markets in Singapore. Housed within a warm community-based environment, PasarBella encompasses a seafood market, meat, dairy, fresh produce, wines and craft beers, global cuisines and personal services. PasarBella is located at The Grandstand (formerly Turf City), which sits right in the heart of Bukit Timah. It is easily accessible by car or public transport, there is also the added convenience of free parking on-site. There are also free shuttle bus services from Newton, Toa Payoh and Botanical Garden MRT station to The Grandstand. You can view the SCHEDULE.

There are quite a lot of the traders at PasarBella. I had took a tour for all but of course I wasn't manage top try everything. So for sure, there will be next trip.

Huber’s Deli - I like sausage, that is the reason this store attracted me. It had quite a long queue on Sunday and I guessed I queued for at least 15 mins. I got myself chicken cheese sausage. Different from other sausage bun, it use the french baguette and toasted well. The portion is consider bigger than the normal sausage bun, which cost $7.80.

I can't remember which store selling this. I just remember the store sale homemade rendang paste, sambal & kaya. The kaya($4) is really quite nice. The rendang paste tasted really good and you can sample the stuff that sell in the store. There also sale Rendang Beef Burger($8). I got to try this from a friend which purchase it. The beef with rendang indeed delicious, beef is so tender and yummy. For the portion, I felt slightly expensive for a $8 burger with the size.

Bukit Timah Food Center

I went to this food center after thw hike at bukit timah. Always heard about the good food here but when I am there, I seems like nothing to choose from.

My friend ordered satay beehun. This seems very fomous not only of the queue but also of the publishing of their stall at various media.  I looked at the operating hours, it is short and only 4 days it opened. The satay sauce indeed good, so it make the dishes overall tasted great.

In the end, I chose the Penang Char Kway Teow. The queue was not long but waiting time was long. This version is quite disappointed, I think uncle can do better.
