SS Club Ipoh

This is a very late post as it sit in my card for quite sometime. SS Club is at KL and they have branch at Lost World Tambun. It was a year and half ago when I visited them on their opening. I remembered we got free entry and just paid for our beverage. Drink are all standard, I got mine with good choice of non-alcoholic one. The burger tasted average. The pub's environment consider quite nice, but very noisy if you have more people and crowded. Great thing was the time we went in not much people, so we were still quite enjoy for this.

This time, when I visited Lost World Tambun again, I found that they seems closed, not sure it is temporarily for permanent.

Coaster

A very nice place to chill for the night. We finished the Song of the sea and thought of chilling along the beach since we were hardly here. We walked along the Siloso beach and we decided to go in to Coaster as it seems we did not have much choice and this looked the best.

We got some snack and drink, I did not tried their main course. The chicken wing tasted nice. The best part is the environment, we sat besides the beach, chit chat and relax. This is really good place to chill.

The Merry Men

The 3rd destination and the last hopping place for the day, we were supposed to go to Kith but no food served and it was dinner time, so we skipped it. Instead we just walk along the river to see if any good place to go in. Someone suggested Bla Bla Black Sheep but others seems not very interested so in the end they chose The Merry Men, guessed part of the reason is the restaurant's name that is quite attractive.

I like the interior design especially the big black and white tree on the wall. There is live band on every Wednesday and Saturday after 8pm but we were done before that, so din manage to enjoy the band. Where is the band? It is just under the tree!

Fish and Truffle Fries($16) - Battered Fish Fillet, truffle fries and coleslaw, accompanied with tartar sauce and malt vinegar. I did not try this but according to my friend, it seems ok. The side dish and sauce served in the special bowl like below.

Left: Caeser Salad with grilled chicken($14) - looks good and the portion is consider big.

Right: Roast Duck and lychee Pizza($22) - Sliced roast duck, chinese sweet sauce, topped wth lychee, scallions, mushrooms and wanton crisp. This apparently tasted quite good. I tried but I cannot taste lychee if I din read the menu for its name and ingredient.

Chocolate Lava($12) - Presentation failed, as if you look at the picture below, the lava explore before it is served to us. Taste wise is good, quite rich chocolate.

Tiramisu($6) - I thought it will just served on a plate with the cake, but it came with some presentation. It tasted normal and I can find better tiramisu elsewhere.

eM By The River

2nd place for the Saturday cafe hopping destination.  When they 1st mentioned, I thought it is "End By The River". I was still wondering the cafe name so special.

When I reached the cafe I thought, I found this is not a cafe actually, it is more like a pub and the name is "eM" By The River!! Good that I wasn't the only one who misunderstood.  Nevertheless I still ordered my 2nd cup of coffee for the day, since this is supposed to be coffee hopping. I got myself latte as thinking not to have something strong so latte will be just good. It costed $7 because this is bar, but with the environment setting and comfortably sofa, I think it still worth for it. And because I guess their specialty should be wine/beer/liqueur so the latte tasted quite normal to me. It seems using those standard nespresso machine.

Below 2 aren't the same coffee, 1st one is the normal coffee and the 2nd one is the latte that I ordered. They looked the same, not sure about the taste.

I tried to take a picture of the bar logo or name but I cannot find it. I only see a "Bar" somewhere at the wall of this bar. Very funnily, I asked the staff there and they did not know too. So in the end, they gave me the name card, the edm and the cup holder as below.

Harry's (Chijmes)

This place is common gathering place if any of the team want to have some drinks and is the nearest to the office. Being to here quite a few times but never had any feedback on this.

Food are quite standard. I never had the main course here. Most of the time we just order the appetisers and drinks. The common one will be the combo platter, nachos, sausages and fries.  The taste are ok.  My colleague who had the spaghetti there said it cannot make it. Looks like he had bad experience on it.

The Auld Alliance

This is whiskey place. You can find all sort of whiskey here. After Harry's, my colleagues had their 2nd round of catching at this place. I actually like this place as it is cosy and definitely a nice chatting place with very comfy sofa.

Whiskey is too strong for me so I can only have a sip from others. The 4 whiskeys that they choose has its own unique smell and flavour.
