I had a treat here with a couple of colleagues. We were looking for halal place and one of the colleague recommended this restaurant and she think it is good. I passed by and do hear the good comments previously, so glad to have chance to try out.
The dishes on menu all looks quite interesting. We ordered a few portion for sharing.
Grape Leave Roll($5.90++), Roasted Eggplant($5.20) - these 2 dishes served cold. The leave roll tasted good but not sure what I was eating, the only thing I confirmed is rice wrapped with grape leave, of course there are some other herbs. Roasted eggplant taste average but good to go with bread although it is cold.
Sour Cherry Juice($3.90++), Ayran($3.90++) - sour cherry juice highly recommended by one of my colleague, taste great from the feedback of my colleagues who had them. I got Ayran, a yogurt drink, it tasted a bit salty not the usual one we taste sweet or sour.
Hummus($5.30++), Turkish Bread($2.90++), Seasame Bread($3.80++) - The Turkish bread and sesame bread smells good but texture different, both also good to go with hummus
Sofra Spaghetti Aglio($11.90++) - Din get to taste this but my colleague said it is nice.
Doner Kebab Rice($10.80++) - Doner kebap served with Turkish fragrant rice.
Chef Plate($21.90++) - A combination plate consists of Doner kebap, Izgara Kofte & a skewer of Shish kebap. All tasted quite unique, especially chef plate you can get the combination of the kebab, just it is a bit too dry for me. I quite like the minced meat patty.
Shish Kebab($17.50++) - Grilled cubed meat served with Turkish cracked wheat
Sofra Kebap Veggie($15.50++) - Freshly baked bread filled with walnut, eggplant, tomato & cheese. This is delicious, I like it very much.
Sultan Kebap($15.90++) - Mildly spiced lamb served with baked cheese & mashed potatoes. Tasted quite good and less lamb smell.
Pide($13.50++) - Turkish pizza You can choose one of this==>(*beef *lamb *chicken *cheese & tomatoes *zuchinni). We took the cheese and tomatoes, tasted great!
Desserts we had below 4 items, I personally like the main course more than the desserts.
1.Baklava($5.90++) 2pcs - Homemade Turkish fitto pastry with pistachios, pastry is cripsy but too sweet
2. Kenefe($7.50++) - 2nd picture, chef's recommendation, Baked Kadaiff with cheese, nice but too sweet
3. Turkish Chocolate Pudding w/marshmallow($5.40++) - pudding tasted average
4. Stuffed Fig($5.40++)2pcs - 1st picture bottom item, I cannot appreciate it, it is a fruit type dessert
