Dine In The Dark

The ‘Dining in the Dark’ experience is organized by the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH), as a form of raising awareness about the challenges that persons with vision impairment face in their daily activities. A sighted person can also get to experience what it is like to be blind without the use of blindfolds.

I had twice the DITD experiences, one by my company and another time I felt it was meaningful so I organized a private event and invited my friends and their friends to join. Lunch/Dinner is a 4 course set meal comprising Starter, Main Course, Dessert & Drink. (All food is catered from HALAL kitchen).  They have menu for vegetarian and non vegetarian which is $30 nett per person, student with assorted snack which is $15 nett per person. It is normally not open to individual, you have to form a group with min 10 pax.

No pictures of the food that we had because we cannot see it for sure and I am not going to reveal it here so that if you plan to try, you can guess what you have. The food tasted quite nice but do not pair up with what you had paid. It might worth the amount you paid, but it is form of supporting the SAVH on the staff and also restaurant setting, you won't have much experience like this in Singapore.

Everything in dark so you have to utilize your touch sense and you get to experience eating in totally darkness using your utensils. You might find using hand may be an easier choice. :D
