The places where I can find my favourite traditional cake. Since I have memory I already know about this and I like their cake. Local call it Longor蛋糕(means cake), West Malaysia also have something similar, they call it as 鸡蛋糕. Basically they make from almost same ingredients.
This type of cake as there isn't any preservation added so best is to consume in 3 days. If you put longer(the staff said can last for a week), it will become harder but still good to go with any hot drinks. Other than this cake, there are other pastry which I like too.
The cake that I love the most at Seng Siong Hoe. It used to be RM1 for 5 and now it is RM0.60 per piece.
Sesame Cookies(礼餅) - traditionally it is given as gift when you married your daughter. It is hard to get a new sesame cookies nowsaday, the one at Seng Siong Hoe doesn't taste as good as the one I bought in the Sunday morning market.
Glutinous Rice Cookies - the thickness reduced by double since the old time and price increased, I found the old time one taste better. There is a layer of peanut in the middle of the cookies. May be because I like the thicker one with more peanut paste.
Kuih Manis - It is a kind of fried biscuit coated with sugar. It depends on which pastry shop make it. I used to try one very nice, the version at Seng Siong Hoe not that good for me.
Golden Fun Cookies and Citrus Cookies - Golden Fun is sweet and Citrus one tasted a bit salty. I prefer the golden fun cookies but I feel the texture now a bit different compared with the old time.
Soft Glutinous Cookies - this is too sweet for me so I normally not buying this but my friends who are sweet tooth, they love this cookies.
