Rasapura

This probably the most expensive food court that I ever went in Singapore.  Not sure if there are other more expensive elsewhere.  However at MBS area this probably the most affordable choice. Rasapura gather most of the famous hawker stall and put under one roof so whatever you eat here should be good.

It is part of business for Koufu Group. There are a lot of stalls but it is very hard to get a seat here. You really have to act fast and walk fast if you spot any empty seat.

I do not know what to eat so decided to go for Malaysia food. I had the Yuan Yang $6.9 (combination of fried bee hun and kway teow). This probably one of the cheapest choice other than toast. It is not the best but at least the one that I had did remind me the taste of Malaysia. Guess the master chef must be from Malaysia.  A bit salty for the gravy and I like the flower egg im gravy but the version here have only little.

After the meal, I got the Kopi C without sugar ($2+) and it is good. I forgot the exact price but definitely more expensive than normal food court. Next, we felt like still wanna to have something and my friend got us the Salted Egg Bun (流沙包$4.8) which tasted quite nice even compare with some of the dim sum place.

Lot 10 Hutong (十號胡同)

I haven been to KL town for many years and when I checked out with friend on the eating area, I was recommended to Lot 10 Hutong. Reason being the food centre gathered a lot of famous local stall around the area. Lot 10 Hutong is a Malaysia's first and only heritage destination that pays tribute to one of the best loved national treasures - good food and the art of local cuisines.

The food center's interior is toward the vintage feel, so I like the way they put the things together. I tried a few of them, and feel the food is good for some. I was a bit surprised to see the price, a bit expensive to me although I dun know how much it charges if I go to the original shop. Comments on food is based on my personal preference as I am not local, not sure what is the original taste.

Hokkien Mee - RM11.50, this must be the most expensive one I tried. I do not really know the taste different using charcoal and normal fire. Here they are using charcoal, the noodles tasted and smell good to me.

Chang Fen with Prawn Paste from Penang - RM8.9, nice as I like the prawn paste

Popiah - RM6.9, I personally dun really like it. It is a bit different from the normal I tried. It doesn't means that this is bad. There were 2 types that we ordered, one with egg skin and another one is normal.

Balastier Market

Ah Hui Handmade Fishball Noodles ($4) for the mixed fishball soup. I requested with no noodles and it had 7 balls in the soup. The fishball is good and chewy.  There are 3 types - original, mixed vegetables and rolled fish ball with carrot and celery. I prefer the original as I don't really like the celery taste but all tasted quite good.

Lorong 8 Toa Payoh Block 210 Market And Food Centre

Lorong 8 TPY food center have variety kind of choices if you want to have your 3 meals here.

Selegie Soya Bean - my friend said this is the best she had at the market and she likes it a lot because of the smooth texture. I used to have Bean Curd($1.1) here if I passed by. I did tried their Glass Jelly with Sea Cocunut($1.7) tasted quite good, but very sweet for me. Next time will request for less sugar syrup.

New Eastern Kim Tee Dried Pork - the stall normally very busy during the CNY period and I happened to felt like want to try the dried pork so I bought 100g for own consumption. The business quite good, it tasted not bad. However, I felt it is a bit hard for me, I like softer version.

Yong Toufu - Located at the corner that consider near at the washroom, of course no smell. The Yong Tofu is quite nice and the boss said they handmade the fish ball. I like it overall.

Hai Nam Street Old Coffee - traditional taste of coffee and toast. Hawker price with quite good quality.

Seletar Sheng Mian.Mee Hoon Kway 实里达生面·面粉粿 - I never fail to see a queue for this stall. Finally one day, my friend said let's go and try, I have mood to queue up. Oh great! The queue is about 30min and we had the original Mee Hoon Kway. While waiting, I met a couple who shared the table with us, they actually had visited the stall since young(around 20+ years?). The stall used to be at Seletar and now moved to TPY and AMK. I like the noodles, tasted good. The noodles are hand made.

Tong Xin Yuan 同心圆美食中心

We supposed want to go to the opposite coffee house but we arrived quite late and seems not much choices. So we decided to have it opposite. I think most of the stall should be only open for dinner time. However, we still able to find some stall to fill the stomach.

Me and my friend shared the yong taofu, tasted quite nice. It seems they use traditional recipe as saw on the wall. It tasted quite nice, the whole bowl costed us RM10, but sharing among 2 of us, I feel the price is reasonable.

My friends had the curry mee, lor mee, fried bee hun and roasted pork, chicken rice. Nothing very fantastic,  all tasted average.

Lorong 7 Toa Payoh Block 22 Food Centre

Lorong 7 Toa Payoh Block 22 Food Centre is the nearest and easiest place to fix my tummy when I am hungry. However, this food center has limited stall open at night, so it is best to go for breakfast and lunch.

Economic Fried Bee Hun
This economic fried bee hoon and noodle is very popular in the morning, I always saw a long queue for that. Finally, I went to try it. It charges by item, for eg: bee hun is $1, most of the side dishes is $0.50, otak is $0.9. How is the taste? Not very fantastic but average. I got the kway teow and beehun, the side dish is not really expensive. It can be the reason why this is a famous breakfast choice.

Chao Zhou Fishball Noodle
I actually knew about this fish ball stall because there was once I took a taxi, the taxi driver told me how famous it is. He said if you try the one at ION Orchard food court(run by the son), you should try the one at TPY as that is run by the parent. The chili especially nice. I went there few time, sometime was not open, sometime too long queue. So when I checked with the aunty, I only know they do not open from Mon-Wed. The rest of the day they start to sell at 6am. I was there on one Sunday and I decided to join the queue. It took me 30 minutes for the queue, that is how famous it is. The noodle is $3 and the fishball is handmade. I got fishball noodles soup and another dry version. If you are on health concious, then go for the soup one. If you like me wanted to try the chili and like non soupy version, you can get the dry one. Both come with 5 pieces of fishball. You can choose to add more fishball(min 2) at $0.40 each.

So how is the taste? Is it so famous and worth for queuing? I don't like to queue, if the queue not more than 15-30mins and I am free, most likely I will go for it. I like the fishball and the chili as well - spicy enough. The fishball tasted quite nice, no fishy smell. You can't see the picture of my dish because of the lang wait and I was too hungry that I forgot to take the picture.

Mr Porridge

Porridge place at Lorong 7 Toa Payoh Hawker is a good place to get for your meal if you want something light and not too heavy. Taste of the porridge is average. There are quite a number of choice you can choose to fix your taste bud.

Cheng San Market & Cooked Food Centre

Although stayed at this area for almost a year, but I seldom came to the market, one of the reason was when I reached home at night, most of the stall closed. I tried quite a few stall here but I cannot recall which is the one. Food here tasted generally average but definitely a good place if you don't know what to have.

There is famous coffee stall with long queue, due to curiosity I joined the queue and the coffee tasted quite good. Another popular stuff is the Teochew porridge which I never get a chance to try out but I always saw a lot of people having that.

On my last day at this area, I visited the market try to get some breakfast and I attracted by this soya bean because they have Red Bean Soya Bean($1.20), I like red bean and I feel it should taste good with soya and I am right, I like the taste. The soya drink itself tasted quite smooth, some might have powder taste but here you won't have that.
