Artisan Bolangerie Co (ABC)

I passed by this cafe and bakery at Great World City and saw their bakery looks good. When I was here, I was struggling whether to try their pastry or the egg benedicts as I saw good review. In the end, I got my Egg Benedict($19.5++). Compare with other cafe, this consider quite expensive to me. So it better to be good. You can find their other item from the MENU HERE.

I had flat white for my drink. The coffee here consider quite good for my preference.

Egg Benedicts is really good with the yolk flowing. However, I did find the standard is not the same. I can said I was lucky. The guy next to me ordered the same stuff and his version is the eggs were totally cooked. May be he requested for that.

Jewel Coffee

I had my 2nd cup of coffee here, a cafe that recommend by the group for his favourite coffee at this area. I barely will be here, hence a good try for me. I had my usual cappuccino, there are 2 types of coffee beans for you to choose for your coffee. You can have either coffee beans from Ethiopia or El Salvador. I took the one from Ethiopia as it stated having more fruity taste. I can't taste the fruitiness but I like my choice as it tasted quite different from those I had at Starbucks or Coffee Beans.

They have a new outlet at Rangoon Road which served meals and alcoholic drink, the Jewel Cafe and Bar. The menu looks good, I shall visit there next time.

SwissBake Cafe

I was first attracted by their sandwiches below but in the end I felt it might be too filling for me as the portion looks huge. So I got myself a chicken ham and egg pie. It tasted average, it will be best if the skin more crispy and the ham in sliced. I personally feel the ham in cube a bit hard to chew. I still feel Patrick's Pie that I had in New Zealand is unbeatable at the moment.

Lau Pa Sat (老巴刹)

I went to Lau Pa Sat 老巴刹 for few times. I am quite disappointed for the food I ordered. This is one of the food stall in Singapore which is rated nice. Am I too choosy or I really don't know what food to order? Next time need to try their satay.

The ceiling of the market

Mini-work Noodles from Song Kee Fishball($4.50)

Fried Hokkien Mee from Hup Kee ($4) - Very famous, I tried it at some other place, but the one in Lau Pa Sat really not nice, too wet

Soya Drink($1.20) - less soya taste

BBQ Chicken Wings($1.50) - taste not good, too oily, the meat is very dry.

Popiah($2) - suppose should be quite nice, but it puts lot of vegetable that I dun like

We went there again, this time I brought my 2 friends from New Zeland to try this out, for the environment and also the food. The satay is nice which I din try last time. The dessert just average. This time the fried carrot cake & hokkien mee are quite standard, better than what I had tasted last time.

The claypot rice is not the traditional style which cooked from rice, this is the instant version which rice is pre-cooked. They put the rice in claypot and other ingredient and heat over the fire. Original claypot rice should be cooked with rice and water until it become soft then only add in other ingredient. However, in Singapore, not many places have such claypot rice as it takes longer time to cook.
