The Providore

Providore, not only a cafe by itself, it is also a brand of quite a number of products. I went to the Providore cafe at Orchard for a tea time while waiting for my next appointment. It has a grocery shop next door right opposite the cafe where you can buy coffee, tea, chutneys, pickles, savoury jam, sauces etc.

I had Mocha($5++) and Raspberry Cake($8.5++). It took me a while to decide what cake to have as quite a few looked so tempting but I can only have 1 at that time. I decided on raspberry cake simply because I wanted the sourness and I was glad that I really did a right choice. The mocha tasted standard, good for me. I especially love the cake to go with my mocha. A bit sourness and not to sweet, I was very pleased with my raspberry cake.

Arteastiq

I bought the groupon breakfast set at $22.5 nett with a choice of one main course out of the 8 on the menu and tea. I took Ante Meridiem (Usual:$21.90++) - it served with cheesy potatoes gratin, pan fried salmon with rockets on top, I like this!! My friend chose Prime Dawn with Bacon (Usual:$20.90++) which comes with scrambled egg, cheesy potato gratin,  rockets, baked cheese tomato,  mushrooms and of course bacon. This is like normal big breakfast so not much surprise on this, tasted quite standard.

For tea, I got Pamelo Tea and she got Pear Tea. The tea is charged at $11++ usually. I quite like my pamelo tea, smelled good.

After the meal, we got ourself dessert, Adam in Wonderland ($14.9++). It came with 2 scoop of premium ice cream and signature apple cake. We choose Mao San Wan (MSW durian) and champagne vanilla. I dun really like this version of apple cake. The ice cream doesn't taste fantastic too, quite average.
This is really quite worth it to get the promotion from groupon as I personally like the cafe environment.  Good place to mingle with friends and relax for the whole day.

Dolce Tokyo

‘Dolce’ means ‘sweet’ in Italian, and true to its name, Dolce Tokyo serves a variety of Japanese desserts from Mitsu Mame (jelly cubes), Kakigori (shaved ice), Zenzai (red bean dessert), Sundaes, Italian-influenced Panacotta, Crème Brulee, Chocolate Brownies, Soft Serve etc. They served all day breakfast like egg benedict. Originally I thought it is some famous Japanese Bakery shop's branch oversea but when I saw the menu, only realized that this is another invention from MOF.

Hot Matcha Latte($7.50++) - tasted quite nice, not much powder taste. Iced Azuki with Caramel Sauce($8++), my friends said average.

The cakes here probably is the most expensive that I had tried. All cake is more than $10, however, it does have bigger size than the normal one. Yuzu Cake($11.50++), I like Yuzu tasted a lot and I love this cake, but too sweet, so I definitely cannot finish by myself.

Matcha Sesame Cake($11.50++) - one of the signature cake in the restaurant and it served in a cage. Quite fresh idea, wondering why only this cake served like this. Taste wise we all preferred this over the yuzu cake as this is not that sweet, matcha sesame combination is just good.

Oriole Cafe and Bar

I was wondering around orchard for lunch and I suddenly recall of this restaurant. I had passed by many time but the restaurant name was blocked by the trees hence I did not notice it is not only a bar but also cafe. It is located at the Pan Pacific Serviced Suite and just right beside the 313@Somerset. So the nearest MRT is Somerset.

They have weekday lunch set which is $19++ with 1 appertiser, 1 main course and drink. They cannot change the drink to the coffee I want even with top-up, so I decided to go for ala-carte order. I had my Cafe Latte($5.50++), tasted average. Salmon Egg Benedict($19++), I like it overall, however it will be better if the egg yolk can be more running. The combination of the salmon, eggs and english muffin are great.

Hachifukumaru八福丸

I knew about this ramen place through Groupon promotion, then only I know it is there quite sometime. It is under Nantsuttei group which have one famous ramen at Parco Marina@Milliniea Walk.
Understand from its website, the broth for the soup is chicken based.  However they do serve char siew which is pork. I bought $30 worth voucher for $18 at Groupon.  We got 2 Hachifukumaru Ramen, then topped up with roasted char siew and flavored egg. We got gyoza too.

Aburi-Cha-Shu($5++) -Slightly different from the one in ramen. It was flame-broiled. I like it.

Hachifukumaru Ramen($13++) - Healthier ramen choice with eight bounties of nature, cabbage, carrots, bean sprouts, ginger, nira, corn, negi and garlic. You can choose between 3 oil - black garlic oil, black negi oil and red chili oil. I got the black garlic oil, it smelled good. The portion of ramen is quite a lot for me, so when I finished it, I was so full.Soup base not that salty which suite me. The char siew is good too.

Gyoza($6++) - Pan fried dumplings, tasted average. Less filling so when I pick it up, i can feel inside have lot of air.

Ajitsuke Tamago($1.50++) - my favourite and the tamago here is very nice. See the running yolk. Yummy!
