The Fabuluos Baker Boy

I went there for brunch at almost 11am and the weather was really warm. I then felt great that I visited this cafe after its renovation as I read from some other blog that there is no air-conditioning at this cafe. Thanks god that after renovation, it is now air conditioning equipped.

The brunch menu is limited.  We wanted to try their cake so we decided to share one salad and one main course, then added one cake so that we won't feel too full.

Latte($5.4++) - nice latte art but tasted average.

Red Velvet SL Cake ($9++) - unlike the usual it is covered with cream cheese. The version here covered with a layer of chocolate.  The cake tasted just nice, soft and not too sweet.

Towkay Ng’s Egg Benedict($12.5++) - this looked really interesting as 1st time I saw a perfect round egg Benedict on the sauteed spinach and toasted brioche. Unlike other sometime will be like oval. The toasted brioche was great to go with the really running egg yolk. A must try dish I would say. The only complaint about this is too much carb as it comes with rosemary roasted potatoes only. Will be nice if there are some greens. You can add on any of the below item at $4++.
  • Beef Bacon
  • Mexican Chicken Sausages
  • Roast Rosemary Potatoes
  • Chicken Chipolatas

Wild Mushroom Salad ($14++) - very simple dish with sautéed mushroom with some rockets topped with a fried egg. Taste average as it is really too simple which I think I can do the same as home.

There is a gallery inside the cafe where you can see some local artist work. If you have time, do take a look, you might find something you like.

Chao Yue Xuan Teochew Seafood Restaurant 潮悦轩

We had early Lao Shang for Year 2014 Chinese New Year gathering at Chao Yue Xuan Teochew Seafood Restaurant. It is part of the chain of Ah Yat Seafood group. The dining hall have different city name and we were in Singapore. Food generally quite good except the dessert we all feel there are room to improve. This is teo chew style cuisines and some we never had them before. The one with duck and vegetables was new to us. I can accept it but some of my friends found the taste is a bit weird. The damage was almost $500.
