Bruno's Pizzeria & Grill

We always wanted to have something special on Friday, so Bruno - our lunch option. My colleague been there before and she introduced us this restaurant. They have set lunch and ala-carte menu and we go for set lunch simply because we feel it is more worth. They have different menu for set lunch as I found that the day we had is different from what they published on their website.

My colleagues went for SET LUNCH A, where I got myself SET LUNCH B, just simple because I wanted to try their tiramisu. My set lunch is pretty good, the salad tasted yummy and the steak, not the best but ok with the red wine sauce, just it tasted a bit sweet. Tiramisu is disappointing but we ordered Torta di cioccolato which is nice to eat while warm.

Little Ice Creame Kafe (LICK)

I actually not meant to be here as I am not aware there is this dessert place. There is another ice-cream cafe - The Ice Cream Gallery at the same row which suppose should be our destination. I then heard from colleague that there is another one just a few shop further down, so I decided to check this out. They have some similar flavor but it seems LICK has more special flavor, for eg. Kaya Toast and I forgot to try this special one.

We are then attracted by the Wednesday promotion, buy 1 get 1 scoop free, so in the end, those not thinking to have ice-cream, we bought and dine in. For $3.50 you get 2 scoops of ice-cream, it is a good deal right.

I choose Lychee flavor as I feel it is lighter and tasted great. Honey Lavender a bit weird for me, but sure if you are lavender fans you will like it. The Hershey's Dark Chocolate tasted good, it normally won't go wrong with chocolate based ice-cream. Another I like is the Green Tea Oreo, I basically love all green tea product.

Check out their promotion board below and find out which suite you the best. They have ice-cream buffet.:D

Old Hong Kong Tea House

I bought the Deal Coupon and 10 of us went for the dim sum. Although it is stated as dim sum but dun really have much dim sum choices. It actually have some stir fried dishes(11am-2pm), roasted duck, chicken, pork, noodles and rice, porridge. The food overall is average, some are good but their service is really bad.

1st round of ordering seems ok, although it took us 30mins to wait for our food. 2nd and 3rd round were bad. Order lost, we keep on chasing and we even need to serve ourselves the food and drink. I asked one of the waitress where is my bao, she just simply point to a corner and said:"I think this bao is yours, nah". The food was there for dun know how long and she just serve me like that and I asked how come it ended there and her answer is, we dun know whose food is that so we just put there. I start to suspect the hygienic of the food. This is not the end, we waited for 2-3 hours for our food, and the food was COLD, even for steamed dumpling. How can that be? Our 3rd order(after 2-3hours), we checked and was told they all not make yet, need another 20mins, so since we waited for so long, so we accepted it and this time the food served was hot.

This tea house is opened for 24 hours and I understand the staff may be working long hours but their face look like Mr Bao, not very friendly when we checked our order. One or two were still find, not too sure they just started their shift, that why they are fresh.

However, if you accepted the so many deal, you should expected your crowd to be there. In fact, you should at least have more people. When we talked to the manager, he said 3 of his staff is MC, but that is not the reason I had to wait for my food for 2-3 hours and they still want to charge us service charges where we aren't really being serviced. I will never come back again for its buffet.

Some XO sauce chang fen, which tasted quite good. It is pan fried and cripsy.

Roasted Duck, I dun like it. The roasted pork had a very strong pork smell, make me think of whether they clean the pork well. The Fish Paste Egg Plant is nice.

Steamed Prawn dumpling, pork ribs, siew mai are pretty standard. They are good in a way.  I like the sweet and sour pork. The pork is crispy. The Chu Chang fen is just average. The custard egg yolk bun need to serve hot and only it will taste nicer. The 2nd one we ordered was cold so it tasted totally not good. The lotus rice, I think Bao Today one taste nicer. Char Siew was cold, else it will taste quite good!!

Din taste the curry fish ball but my friend said so so. I like char siew but not from Old Hong Kong. It was very salty not the one I like.

Eng's Noodles House

This is award winning noodles and fanous in Tanjong Katong. It tasted much like like Sarawak Kampua that can find in Sibu city, except the pork lard taste is stronger. Overall I like this noodles may be because it tasted homely. It is quite salty and a bit oily for me. It will be the best it it reduced to the one I liking.

Side dishes are average. The Water Chestnut drink is good, we was told it is homemade.

The price of the noodles slightly more expensive than the normal that we can find in hawker center. However, they seems to have more dumpling and char siew. Lunch time on weekday quite full house and I see people keep coming and went off. So it must be good.

The Ice Cream Gallery

We went to Tanjong Katong for lunch and my boss said opposite there the ice-cream quite famous. we ended up in the ice-cream shop after lunch. I tried their some specialties and I like them. The MaoSang King, D24 durian ice-cream is nice. The D24 so far is the best I had in Singapore, the MaoSang one I think some ice-cream shop have similar one. Another worth to try is the avocado ice-cream. For $3.50 you will get a single scoop.
