I heard that this restaurant serves nice brunch and finally have chance to try it with friend. It is recommended you make reservation 2 weeks in advance if you would like to get the aircorn seating. We did not do that and it wad crowded on the day we visited, even though it was 2pm. We got the outdoor seat and thanks god that the weather was not too bad.
An interesting part of the restaurant is the edible garden along the entrance side which you can find lot of herb and plants. I love plants so when I sit at outdoor, I don't really feel like i am in a city area. Recommended on outdoor seating is the weather isn't too hot as you will get burn if it is a sunny day as there is no much cover.
Overdoughs is a bakery is the sister bakery by chef-owner of artichoke Bjorn Shen, and Roxanne Toh. The signature items include handmade baklavas and meringue tarts, in assorted flavours. The meringue tarts look especially tempted for me. The bakery is a partner of the following cafes -
- Chye Seng Huat Hardware
- Group Therapy Coffee
- Penny University
Cuppucino ($4.50++) and homemade lemonade ($4++) - both also tasted average.
Scrambled Egg and Mushrooms($22++) - this attracted me because of the cheese in the dish. It tasted yummy which did not disappointed me. It has local farm mushrooms, grilled haloumi cheese and za'atar toast. I espcially love the cheese and mushrooms combination. It tasted just great!
Lamb Shakshouka ($26++) - A must try item according to the lady that served us so we took the recommendation. I do not usually take lamb as I am scared of its special taste but this tasted fine for me. It include 2 stewed eggs, roast lamb, cheese, pistachio dukka in tomato sauce and 2 toasts.
Baklava ($5++) - it comes in pair but you are allowed to choose 2 different flavours so long as it is within the same price range. I choose fig baklave and traditional baklava. They tasted nice but too sweet for me.
Soursop Meringue Tart ($5++) - I usually took lemon meringue but here I saw 4 different types and we choose soursop because we both felt this is quite special. Tasted great for me.
