I am a salted egg custard bun's fan. I did a search online and saw some recommendations on taste paradise where it has one of the best salted egg custard bun. I went with my friend on a Saturday morning around brunch timing, they open only at 11am. When we reached there, there is already people on the queue but not many people so we joined them. We were naive! After a while I found out, those people on queue had made the reservation before they came. I then quickly check with the lady if there is still space for 2 of us. She told us it was fully booked but they can try to help us for the seat since we only 2 people.
We were lucky on that day, not a long wait and we were seated. I looked at the menu and found that the price of dim sum is slightly more pricey then some restaurant. However, the restaurant has a nice ambiance so it kind of we paid also for it. So it doesn't matter, so long as the dim sum is nice.
Steamed Custard Bun(流沙包)was why I am there. Siew Mai always in my list. We ordered deep fried taro puff, steam xiao long bao, baked BBQ honey pork pastry, steam spare ribs with black bean sauce and other. Now when I looked back, I found 2 of us are big eater, we ordered so much and we finished all of them!
I like the tea pot, elegant!
This is their dim sum menu aka the order form.
Steamed Custard Bun(流沙包 - $4.50++) - This is really good, MUST TRY if you are here. The taste is really good, if I will be going back, defintely for this. It comes with 3 per portion. The bun is actually quite small, slightly bigger than mini bun but smaller than usual bun that we bought outside.
Deep Fried Taro Puff with Dinced Chicken and Prawn($3.80++) - The taro tasted nice, fried well. The filling is average but still good.
I forget what is this. It is kind of rice rolls with some fried stuff. Not much memory on this so I think it tasted average too.
Steamed Xiang long Bao - This is average and I prefer to next door Paradise Dynasty version. They are same group, but I feel they have different taste.
Steamed Pork Dumpling(Siew Mai $4.80++) - This tasted average, I had too much expectation to it, so kind of disappointed.
Baked BBQ Honey Pork Pastry($3.90++) - This is nice, the pastry is soft yet crispy and the char siew filling smell so good. Yummy!
Steam Spare Ribs with Black Bean Sauce($3.80++) - The taste is lighter but still ok.
