Wongkok Cafe & Bar

Our first restaurant meal in Auckland. The weather was cold, hence we wanted something hot and soupy, after walked for a while, we finally decided this cafe.

Their portion is quite generous and they added lot of noodles. In Asia, the common is one portion of noodles and I think in Auckland is 2 portions. So we all cannot finish the noodles and it was really a waste of food. We ate all the ingredient except noodles, as it is really a lot. Hence, we decided next time we should just get 2 sharing among 3 of us.

The wanton and char siew noodles tasted quite good, where I liked it. The beef meat ball tasted alright. Among the 3 different types of meat, I love their char siew best. Although if you looked at the restaurant, it is not that new, in fact like a small old cafe, but they do serve good Asian food. I din try the zhi char there, so not too sure of the standard, but I saw lot of Asian had dinner there. It cost us around almost NZD10 for one noodles, We may find it expensive if compare with Asian, but it is consider the budget cuisines in Auckland. However, this is common that Asian food costs more than western food.
