Boon Tong Kee Chicken Rice

Chicken rice - one of the most famous dish in Singapore and rated must try item if you visit the island. You can easily find this dish almost everywhere, be it hawker center, coffee stall(kopitiam), restaurant etc. So how you define which is the best? I feel that depends to individual preference.

A friend of mine visited Singapore and wished to try out chicken rice, I recalled a few that declared as "Best Chicken Rice In Singapore". I checked their address and found Boon Tong Kee is nearby where I stay. So we just went there. I personally have no preference on which stall to go and be frank, I feel most chicken rice tasted quite the same and I don't really know how to differentiate sometime. Some may focus on the rice, some on the chicken. My level only can differentiate if the rice suite my taste and for chicken, till now I still don't really can tell which is the best.

We ordered the famous chicken rice and some vegetables to go with. Boon Tong Kee has 7 branches, so I can said it is still quite famous among Singapore.  After the meal, I asked my friend for feedback. How she feel the taste of the chicken rice here compare to her country? She answered:"It is just as usual chicken rice." The rest of the vegetables tasted average but I feel the portion is small on what we paid. Total bill damaged is $39.65 with drinks. They are charging you for the towel, so if you do not use it, you may return to them.

Signature Chicken Rice: Rice $0.60++, Chicken $10++; rice is smaller than usual so normally guy will get 2 of them. I like the rice, tasted good and I like the way it comes as a whole which is not the sticky version. Chicken tasted as normal to me.

Deep Fried Beancurd($7++) - looks nice but tasted average. I found a bit oil taste so I dun really like it.

Kang Kong($8++) - tasted quite nice but portion is small.
