My last visit to this area was 2 years ago when I visited Pulau Ubin. As I am staying far from the east so I usually won't travel here for food. My friend told me there is this cafe which she feel not bad and I think may be this is a chance for me to revisit the place.
I was there at 3pm and to my surprise the cafe is crowded. I left my contact and waited for 20-30mins to get my seat. The weather was hot and great that I got an indoor seating. We did not have the brunch menu as we had our lunch so we just got some deserts to go with our coffees.
One thing to mention was the service is not really good. Some might think we did not pay for the service charges so we shouldn't request much. The staff misunderstood my friend's request and when we told him, no apologise and we all feel he showed like he is not willing to work. Asked him for more sauce, he just placed it down unwillingly and when he want to take it away, he just grabbed it without checking if I was still using it. No smile at all compare with some other staffs.
We both ordered the coffee; mine with large Green Tea Latte ($6.5) and my friend had Rose Latte ($5.9). My latte was alright, you can taste the green tea powder so it was kind of not smooth and I found that if you let it set for a while, it will tatsed better but kind of too sweet for me. Rose latte tasted special with nice aroma.
I had French Toast($9) and my friend had the Buttermilk Waffles($9). I was disappointed with the food especially for my toast. It was not what I expected, very dry and the toast is thick. I requested for more chocolate sauce to go with it. The caramelised banana topping was alright. The waffle was dry too, taste average; not crispy enough. To go better with that we requested for more syrup too.
