Another private event from Coffee and Cravings meetup group. This time we were heading to west for Revolution Coffee. It is set up by Indonesian-native java devotee Ajie Permana at the secluded Infinite Studios on Portsdown Road. It is not easy to get there, in fact it can be considered as ulu place, however, there is shuttle bus from One North MRT station on weekday, weekend you have to find your own way in. The setting in the cafe is very simple, you may have a feel from below pictures. It is not the standard table and chair design but rather use some other containers and wood to make the table and the chairs you can find many type. The cafe specially designed a 4-course menu for us at $25 with soup and salad, main course, dessert and drink.
Salad:
Tuna Salad with Juicy Mango in honey-lime coriander dressing
Soup:
French Onion Soup with Sourdough Toast
Main Course (a choice of):
1. Juicy home made beef burger with spicy inferno sauce
or
2. Spaghetti Marinara (Mixed seafood simmered in our house made tomato sauce with garlic, served with spaghetti)
or
3. Grilled Chicken Satay Breast with pineapples, onion, satay sauce & mozzarella cheese pizza
Dessert:
The Mad Chef’s Sticky Date Pudding with Gula Melaka Sauce
Beverage:
1. Coffee or 2. Tea or 3. Mint Lemon Cooler
I like the salad and onion soup especially the dressing for the salad - Juicy Mango in honey-lime coriander dressing. Tasted really refreshing with lime.
Our main course selection, I am not a pizza person, so I skipped that. I did try the pizza(via exchange:D), I like the grilled chicken satay topping. It is nice, I am a crispy pizza skin lover, so the pizza is kind of too thick for me but bread tasted quite good with the satay combination. I usually avoid taking Spaghetti in the restaurant unless there is very special kind or signature Spaghetti that is unusual. So I got myself burger instead. The burger has huge patty, tasted average, it is not juicy enough, other than that it is good.
I was there because of the coffee as I wanted to try out the coffee here. Today they served Reservoir Road by Sydney’s esteemed Single Origin Roasters. Coffee is good so I didn't waste my effort to travelling so far for it.
Mint Lemon Cooler - I din't get to try this but asked those who had it, they said it tasted ok.
The mini sticky date pudding tasted very good but too sweet for me and I feel it might taste better if it is warmer. If you have the sweet tooth, I think you will like it.
